Touched by an Angel!

Touched by an Angel!

Her confident heavenly voice took my breath away. We sat in silence and listened to her fascinating voice on Sunday the 19th August during the service at Calvary church. It was a very gratifying spiritual experience and I feel so blessed for the privilege to be present with the audience that morning in calm delight. Her grace, sweetness charm. the friendly sophicated simplicity captured us. A breath of fresh air! A treasure, precious Gem. You'd be amazed as well if you get to meet and listen to her. Music unseen, still move the heart! A friend for life; great language to grow up and spread the joy. Devotion to motion defines memorable moments! it was one of those precious moments to reminise with joy! She certainly made a mark on me. Every child is precious and should have the opportunity to play a melody brings joy to their hearts. Certain beloved melodies linger in our heart and minds for-ever. Beautiful music is the food of LOVE! A magnet to Peace, Joy, and Harmony.

Divided we fail the children

On 21st July I joined my friend Bel her husband Stan, their children and friends to support the hurting mothers and the children of the illegal immigrants who are living in separation from each other.

The innocent children don’t deserve to live in deep anguish and wonder why? and what caused the separation. Those in power should focus and do whatever it takes to close the loopholes in the system than making children pay the price for the decisions parents made.

There have to be a wiser, civilized, kind ways to create a healthy balance.

The feeling of being isolated from the only world they know is devastating to the fragile minds, who are at the mercy of unknown; a different world. Intense emotions of separation anxiety cause deep scars! Few lines of a famous song come to my mind.

“There is a tear in your eye! and I ‘m wondering why? For it never should be there at all”.

So many caring people walked the walk to send a message of LOVE while hurting parents graciously offered the supporters cool water with a warm smile during the long walk began at Iconic McArthur park.

Their attitude of gratitude gave us spiritual energy to make it to the finish line in the extreme heat that afternoon.

Who could relate to their pain better than our family had to live on 3 continents in separation because of inhuman cruelty of few lost souls? We know because we walked the desert In their shoes.

Miraculously we had a second chance to reunite, but the anxieties and the confusion caused during the separation left deep scars! Deeper than the permanent visible scar on my face.

After we got reunited I remember the moment my daughter said to me. “Mama I wish you fed me only coconut and rice and kept me with you.” I replied to her, “Shirlene I wish it was that easy,”

Couldn’t hold the tears filled my eyes, turned around to hide the fears of losing her again because of my misunderstood intentions.

She couldn’t understand but the choices were made for us.

It was a very uplifting experience to see caring people gathered together raising their voices on behalf of the tormented children who were fearful, and unable to express the grief and sorrow of separation.

Families belong together! Children need nurture, compassion, and understanding; certainly not punishment.

Divided we fail the world! Mother nature ! ‘U” Universe!

The Opportunity of a Lifetime to Make a Positive Difference in the Society/World

I am so proud to tell you it has been 17+ years since we first began giving a helping hand to the Welcome House in Sri Lanka. Your contributions paved the way for many women and children in dire need of a hand to heal and turn their lives around to find their way.

Your gift also helps promote and support scholarships for the orphaned children of prison inmates. The children live in isolation and are shamed for the crimes committed by their parents.

Please check the website http://friendsofprisonerschildren.org.lk for details. It takes a special person to lend a hand when it is as easy to look the other way. Please help the charity that saved me.

In addition, our goal is to promote a rehabilitation program for the prisoners who are released after serving Time for the crimes committed.

It is a privilege to be able to give back to those who are in great need. Your support restores HOPE and the promise that once seemed far away.

For a generous donation of $25 or more, you will receive a free copy of my memoir (available at amazon.com). It is the story of my journey where I found refuge at the Welcome House at the most difficult time of my life.
