Oceans 17 Hope Foundation promote and support the scholarships program that aids the children of prison inmates who are burdened and live in isolation for the crimes committed by their parents.
One cannot even begin to articulate in how many ways these fragile lives are challenged both physically and psychologically. They struggle because society imposes on them the stigma of being the child of a criminal. Negating opportunities such as access to education and employment to name a few. The inner suffering of these children is such, they can hardly talk about it. Helping these children is the best gift that can be made to them and society.
In addition, our goal is to promote a rehabilitation program for the prisoners who are released after serving time' for the crimes committed. The mental institutions and jails are overcrowded because most people are quick to judge, condemn and throw the key and look the other way.
We are often too busy to be bothered; But we must pay attention and make every effort to open doors to give them an opportunity, a second chance to turn their lives around.
It has been 17+ years since we (many others including myself) first began giving a helping hand to the Welcome House in Sri Lanka.
Your support restores HOPE and the promise that once seemed far away. Please join hands and let our voices be heard to make the world a better place for this generation and the generations to come.
